Ribchester Roman Museum is in demand as an educational resource. It has one of the most educational and interesting Roman displays in the northwest and a collection of Roman artefacts unrivalled in Lancashire.
The Museum is a low risk visitor attraction located in a beautiful and peaceful part of the Ribble Valley. It is a safe and idyllic venue for school visits.
The Museum provides 2-hour educational sessions.
- The format for a Keystage 2 group includes:
- Introductory talk
- Object handling
- Dressing up in Roman armour
- A visit to the remains of the fort and, of course, a look around the Museum.

Also available is the Museum’s risk assessment that advises group leaders of potential hazards and appropriate action.
